The frog is a new classic

Restaurang Grodan, eller La Grenouille som den hette från början, öppnade i september 1985 och har sedan dess levererat den goda maten till oss på IVA Konferenscenter. Det innebär att Grodan under 2025 firar 40 år med samma ägare och på samma adress – Hipp hurra!

I lokalerna har dock drivits krog sedan slutet av 1800-talet. Restaurangen är indelad i olika miljöer med en klassisk anrik matsal, loungedel, gemytlig bar samt en mysig vinbar på nedre plan. Festvåningen en trappa upp var även den festvåning när fastigheten stod klar år 1898. I de vackra matsalarna som har plats för 175 sittande matgäster finns en egen köksmästare och restaurangchef med serveringspersonal, som ser till att allt håller högsta klass.

A restaurant created by the guests

Restaurant Grodan itself is something as unusual as a pub created in symbiosis with the guests. Both regulars and the younger crowd enjoy themselves here, which together create a cosy and pleasant atmosphere. The flavour experience is guaranteed by our talented chef Luis Subirana and restaurant manager Paulina Melkas Vila, who together ensure that the menu and wine recommendations go hand in hand.

There are different environments under one roof, all for the right occasion. Would you like to sit in the lounge, the church, the back room or the beautiful dining room?

 

Wine tasting for the conference?

Downstairs is the wine bar, a cosy secluded area for events and dinner parties.
The large wine cellar holds thousands of bottles and many exquisite rarities.

The raw materials of the frog

  • All food purchases go through Grodan, which buys locally produced and organic food as far as it is available at a price that is not too expensive
  • The range of drinks (wine/beer) is available at around 15%
  • Leftover food is composted and turned into biogas
  • Organic milk
  • Fairtrade coffee
  • No bottled water. Fresh filters Frog's own water, still/bubble
  • Prioritising organic fruit and vegetables

An innovative classic among Stockholm pubs

Since Grodan opened in 1985, the restaurant has been serving the good food to our guests here at the IVA Conference Centre. Grodan can also boast the same owner since then.

Mats Broström, one of the owners and who runs Grodan, says that he bows and thanks for the help of the guests who navigated the restaurant to what we have become - "a classic among Stockholm pubs with an ambience that cannot be designed or presented in powerpoint format".
